VENUS ~ BORN OF THE SEA

"Venus ~ Born of the Sea" is Orly Raquel's debut album. It was recorded in 2020 in Byron Bay and released in June 2022.

The album is a collection of love songs woven with poetry from previous centuries. If you listen closely you will hear in the songwriting allusions to Edgar Allen Poe, Dante Allegri, Arthur Hugh Clough and the Song of Songs.

There is a thread of feminine sensuality that breathes through the vocals and melodies and the stripped back feeling gives an impression of raw access to the artists soulscape.
